I’m so glad to be blogging again 🙂
Blog is still a work in progress appearance wise I’ll do what I can 🙂
Now let’s talk biz as V would say in Cyberpunk
Here are the movies I’m interested in watching this month as well as recommend!
What’s Streaming on Shudder
The Loved Ones:
Synopsis: “When Brent turns down his classmate Lola’s invitation to the prom, she concocts a wildly violent plan for revenge.” I love this film, and it’s perfect for Prom season!
We Kill for Love
Synopsis: “In search of the forgotten world of the direct-to-video erotic thriller, an American film genre that once dominated late-night cable television.” I am definitely interested in seeing this documentary. Films like this dominated the 80s. Maybe a review is in order? Or I may discover new films in the process to watch!
Hell Motel (Shudder Original/Limited Series)
From the Creators of Slasher!
Synopsis: “Hell Motel sees a group of 10 true crime obsessives invited to the opening weekend of the newly renovated Cold River Motel, the site of a 30-year-old unsolved Satanic Mass Murder. History repeats itself when the guests get stranded and start getting knocked off one by one during a murder spree that grows exponentially more gruesome than the original with each kill.”
I guess there’s no new season of Slasher? But this is just as good seeing a lot of the Slasher cast. And I’ll just say this Slasher > American Horror Story I SAID WHAT I SAID 😏
Screambox Picks
Screambox has a lot of Fulci films, I’m guessing, since his birthday is on June 17.
He is one of my favorite directors, and his nickname of Godfather of Gore is well earned. If you haven’t seen any Fulci films, I would start with Zombie, but be warned if you don’t like gore, don’t watch cause he’s the best at it, and he has a thing for eyes, I’ll just say 😏
My fave Fulci films are: Zombie, City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, The House by the Cemetery (up until the kid screams, seroiously lower your tv when it happens thank me later), The New York Ripper (my friend and I made fun of this film for weeks lol)
Mondo Cane 1 & 2
I’ve seen bits and pieces of the first one. This reminds me of Faces of Death (which is mostly fake as Mondo Cane is, maybe 5-10% is real to my knowledge?) It’s from the 60s and honestly, not so shocking I’ve seen much worse (Traces of Death which is 100% real) Yes, I’ve seen all 4 and owned them, and the soundtracks. Yes, I’m weird thats why you’re here 😏
Bleeding (Screambox Exclusive)
Synopsis: “In a world where vampire blood is harvested as a drug, two desperate teenagers on the run from a vicious dealer break into an empty house and find a sleeping girl locked inside.” Sounds like True Blood with people using V. I’ll check this out!
Prime
Nosferatu (2024) Looks like Prime will be streaming it in addition to Peacock, but the Extended Cut is a Peacock exclusive. I still haven’t seen it fully yet.
Peacock
Shaun of the Dead: I LOVE THIS FILM, so glad to see it’s on Peacock!
And if you love this film as I do, check out Spaced (series) third episode is partially based on this film, has a lot of the cast and a nice Easter egg tying to the series. Spaced is on Tubi as well as Amazon Prime
Pluto TV
I normally wouldn’t mention Pluto but they’re going to have 28 DAYS LATER! WATCH!
Pluto will also have Friday the 13th Parts 1-8 because this month we have a Friday the 13th! (only one of the year as well)
Hulu Horror Highlights
Hulu has the Alien franchise as well as the Predator franchise. (I still have to see Alien Romulus and looking forward to Alien Earth!)
Theaters
I wrote this post the other day and totally forgot about the one major film thats releasing in theaters and thats 28 YEARS LATER! How did I forget that? lol
This is a must see! I am not sure if I can see while in theaters so I may have to wait till its streaming at home.
In theaters June 20
Also releasing in June:
M3GAN 2.0: Looks like a fun campy film, just like the first. In theaters June 27
The Ritual
Synopsis: “Two priests must put aside their differences to perform a series of dangerous exorcisms on a possessed young woman.”
Al Pacino stars as a priest, sign me up!
In theaters June 6
Dangerous Animals
Synopsis: “a surfer who must escape after being abducted by a serial killer intent on feeding her to sharks.”
From the director of The Devil’s Candy, which I really enjoyed. In theaters June 6.
