Hi everyone! So sorry about the lack of posts, I have had life hitting me with all sorts of things. I won’t go into it here, but doing my best (please dont leave comments like “glad to hear you’re doing well” cause I didn’t say that?) will do my best to post more especially since Dark Force Fest is 2 months away! and hopefully we dont get any heavy snowstorms this month and I can try being outside a bit more. My goal is to finally start vlogging, after I learn how to use my camera, video edit, graphic design, etc. I also have several gaming events this month so its busy but in a good way. With that being said, lets get into my horror film picks for this month!
Shudder
Shudder as always has a great selection this month and the number one film that stands out for me is THE MORTUARY ASSISTANT! I heard its very true to the game along with a few easter eggs so very eager to see this! I personally cant play the game I’ve tried several times, unsuccessfully it is definitely one of the scariest games I have ever played and I get so freaked out by what i’m seeing and hearing I dont even know how to do the ritual. I’ll try again one of these days. Other picks from Shudder are:
- An American Werewolf in London
- The Beastmaster
- Bodycam – this trailer was damn good!
- Hostel 1 and 2
- THE MORTUARY ASSISTANT
- Rob Zombie’s Halloween 1 and 2 (I liked the first one, still havent finished the 2nd so hopefully I can do that this time)
HBO Max
I feel like HBO Max they just rotate their selections. so It’s just Blair Witch, Final Destination franchise (not all of them like before), and Happy Death Day, which i did enjoy and wouldnt mind if there was another film.
Peacock
Basically the entire Leprechaun franchise I’m guessing for St. Patrick’s Day. Also Friday the 13th (just 1 and 3, another platform does have the rest)
Netflix
Netflix surprisngly has the entire Saw franchise. not sure what plan though. still no word on Saw 11 hopefully thats still happening since Blumhouse now has Saw rights.
Paramount+
Paramount+ has the entire Friday the 13th franchise perfect for the second Friday the 13th for this year! They also have Pet Semetary 1 and 2 as well as the remake but they have had it before.
Tubi
Since Resident Evil Requiem released this past friday, February 27, almost everyone I see is playing it (I am as well just at a slow pace to enjoy myself as well as to avoid stress) REVIEW AS SOON AS I FINISH! Tubi has Resident Evil films but I have never heard of them (Damnation, Vendetta, Death Island, Degeneration) Should I watch? 🙂
PlutoTV
Pluto has a surprising selection, almost like Tubi. My picks:
- Event Horizon
- My Bloody Valentine (1981)
- Student Bodies – I havent seen this in years! An early 80s horror fiom parody, I saw it all the time on tv, censored, of course. Student Bodies is a rare one for streaming.
- Vacancy
There’s also several franchises of interest to others, such as Paranormal Activity series, Mimic series, The Prophecy series, and this one shocked me, an A24 film I saw the TV glow. (I think HBO Max has this as well as they have many A24 films)
Horror films in theaters
The Bride! March 6 – Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal this one recently caught my eye I’ll see this once it streams at home
Bodycam March 13 on Shudder (scroll up for trailer)
Ready or Not 2 – not sure what the premise for this would be personally I feel like this didnt need a sequel but maybe I’m wrong? Samara Weaving never misses so I’ll watch upon at home release.
undertone March 13 – from A24. I try to like A24, I really do. They look promising but they’re not made for me. However there’s lots of buzz around this one so hopefully it’s not hype, like Skinamarink, Barbarian, or other recent films that were hyped up and I absolutely hated. time will tell.
Horror games
Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly Remake March 12 – I have never played any game from the Fatal Fram series I have always heard they’re great games just never had a chance. I may play it, but currently looking for work.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando March 12 – I have been hearing a few comparisons to Left 4 Dead which is not a bad thing honestly. so was Back for Blood, practically an L4D clone. Demo is currently out.
Project Songbird March 26 – I’m really excited about this game! I played the demo today, will upload soon to YouTube (note the demo is a stand alone experience still recommended) I didnt get to finish the demo as I got lost and couldnt see well without a flashlight but I do want to play this hopefully on release.
There are other indie horror games releasing, I have bookmarked on Twitter/X, I’ll highlight those soon as well as a February wrapup (I want to start doing that as I am doing more reacts on stream)
Did I miss anything? Which films/games are you looking forward to in March? Which would you like me to review? Comment Below!
