Yesterday, we lost a rock and metal legend.

I was in shock when I received the first notification — I was hoping it wasn’t true. But then more alerts started trickling in: Ozzy Osbourne had passed away, shortly after his final show at Back to the Beginning.
🤘 The Godfather of Metal
Black Sabbath are known as the godfathers of metal, for shaping the sound of what metal is — yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Ozzy inspired countless fans and musicians to pick up a guitar, form a band, and push boundaries.
My First Black Sabbath Memory
I got into metal when I was 12. The first Black Sabbath song I ever heard was “Children of the Grave,” during Midnight Metal radio.
I never had the chance to see either Black Sabbath or Ozzy live… but from the countless performances I’ve watched online, his stage presence was unforgettable — right up until the very end.
His final performance of “Mama, I’m Coming Home” was powerful, heartfelt, and beautiful. I’m so grateful it exists.
A Visit to Birmingham
Back in March, I visited England with other travel agents. I had been so excited to visit Birmingham — Ozzy’s hometown — and see the Black Sabbath bench and bridge.
Being at the bench was emotional. All I could think about was the upcoming final show. I imagined the crowds that would fill the city, and the history that lived in those streets.

Rest in Power, Ozzy
Thank you for the music. Thank you for everything.
You live on through the riffs, the fans, the memories, and the rock and metal community.
We will never forget you.
Rest easy, Legend.
