June is finally over—and honestly, good riddance. Between the brutal heatwave (still no AC here!) and juggling multiple online courses, it’s been a whirlwind. But despite the chaos, I pushed through and finished redesigning the blog just in time for July’s content drop.
While I was tweaking layouts and testing new themes, a few major things happened that I didn’t want to skip over. So here’s my quick end-of-month roundup:
🕹️ Silent Hill Remake Announced
Bloober confirmed they’re working on another Silent Hill remake! After the phenomenal job they did with Silent Hill 2, I’m beyond hyped to revisit this haunting classic. I’ll definitely be covering this more when gameplay footage drops.
🖤 Remembering Douglas McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb)
Douglas McCarthy passed away on June 11, 2025.
I only got to see Nitzer Ebb once—last year at Dark Force Fest—but Douglas couldn’t perform due to health concerns. His passing hit hard. Nitzer Ebb were hugely influential in the industrial scene, and Douglas’ voice helped shape an entire era. Rest in power.
🎮 Summer Game Fest 2025 Highlights
I co-hosted Summer Games Fest on my Twitch channel, and a ton of exciting horror reveals were dropped:
- Dying Light: The Beast releases August 21. I’ve started replaying the original Dying Light (at a normal pace this time, not a speedrun!) to revisit Kyle Crane’s story.
- Resident Evil 9: Requiem was announced! Scheduled for February 2026, and it looks incredible. Capcom really said “save the best for last.” The internet’s reaction memes after the Silent Hill reveal? Absolute gold.
That’s it for June! Keep an eye out for my July Streaming Guide—I’ll be sharing what horror films are coming to streaming and theaters this month.
Thanks for reading, and stay cool (seriously).
